Burn more calories in less time!

 

These days we all seem to be fighting to- do lists and squeezing as much as possible into each and every day.

Anything that can free up some time and make a task more efficient is priceless!

 

Below are 3 ways to maximise your exercise time and get the most out of each sessions:

 

Running

 

Instead of going for a steady jog; add interval work.

Warm up for 5 minutes then sprint for 30 seconds, jog for 30 seconds.

Then sprint for 45 seconds, jog for 45 seconds.

Then sprint for 60 seconds, jog for 60 seconds.

Then jog at steady pace for 3 minutes then repeat.

Interval training stimulates the metabolism and boosts calories burned by 60%!

 

Cycling

 

To burn more calories focus on increasing cadence or revolutions per minute (rpm). It will help improve your cardiovascular fitness and burn calories.

Aim for cadences over 100rpm. You will burn 50% more calories in the same time.

 

Swimming

 

Burn more calories in the water by adding resistance.

Add hand plates to your hands or add fins to your feet. The increased resistance requires more work from your muscles and more energy expenditure. For the same half hour swim at the same speed you will burn and extra 25% more calories.
